A Short chronology
After two years of searching and countless hours spent on internet, happyness smiled on me in february 2007. I found a Chevy 55 that matched my price and appearance. With the great help of friend Nenad Matijasevic, the car was already in June of same year in Nova Gradiska, where it was taken by top craftsmen.( automechanic Tona Turkalj, auto body worker Ivo Muic, fabricators Bora Stoic, Marijan Feric, and Petar Sokic, automechanics Vlado Junasevic and Slobodan Pantelic, auto electrician Donald Josipovic, woodsmith Zlatko Benko, friend Mladen Busic, design master Bernard Kurjakovic, photographers Iris and Breza, author of Koc video, web author Idzotic, and a man who knows the answer to literally everything, and knows the solution, Kreso Zega).
We have pulled apart the car and looked at any part. We have restaurated parts that were in excellent condition. All the other parts that weren't in
functional condition were completely replaced with new original parts that I have purchased through American catalogues.
Autohouses that I have found original parts are : LMC TRUCK CHEVROLET PARTS, JIM CARTER CLASSIC, TRUCK PARTS AND AMERICAN CLASSIC TRUCK PARTS.
Literature by which we built the restauration by: FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUAL CHEVY TRUCK 1947-1955, CHEVROLET TRUCK OPERATORS MANUAL, CHEVROLET TRUCK DATA BOOK.
All the phases of restauration were documented by my camera. One part you can see in the photo album. The car was completed and registered in july, 2008.
